Alex asked:

Everyone finds it ideal to have homemade solar panels installed even before your dream house is ready, it is most efficient and cost effective to build your own homemade solar panels rather than buying them, this way you could be saving thousands that you can use for other home improvements. The best part of it all is that you can save on your energy bills for a lifetime and don’t worry — solar panels aren’t that hard to build, there are several great guides that give you step-by-step instructions to make a fully functional solar power system.

Even before starting to make your solar panels you need a little research and find the most profitable components for your DIY project. In fact we’ve done all the research for you and came up with a few conclusions. You need two basic things to get started, a solid DIY guide and all the necessary components. You won’t be spending more than two hundred dollars since all the parts are quite cheap in most hardware shops.

You’ll need to make up a list of all the components you need and carefully research for each one of them to find the best price. We’ve spend in excess one month to find all the parts that are required to install a fully functional solar panel. New solar cells can be costly, depending where you’re buying them from. There are several retailers that are selling used solar cells for a quarter of the normal price. (You need to be careful some of these cells might be damaged). Anyway there’s no need to worry because a solid DIY guide will help you not only build solar panels but give you step by step instructions on how to get all the necessary parts at the cheapest price.

Depending on how much energy you will need, you might have to build more than one solar panel and obviously the price will go up a little. Another thing to know is that solar cells are fragile even if they don’t seem to be. They can easily be damaged so handle them carefully. A solid homemade solar panel plan should contain all the information you need to build and use a solar power system and not only that but it must have an online tech support team just in case you’re having any difficulties.

Create a video blog…instantly.

Bob Lindner asked:

Solar energy can be used to create electricity, central heating, heated water, cooking, and even for producing salt desalination. Solar energy comes from the suns rays. Solar energy is known to be very environmentally friendly. However, when the suns rays move into the earths atmosphere it is quite dilute.

Although solar energy is known to be very environmentally favorable it does not only have advantages, but some disadvantages, as well. Lets hash out some of the advantages and disadvantages of solar energy.

Why don’t we start with the main advantage of solar energy. Solar energy is clean. To develop electricity or heat with solar energy you need only the sun rays. There is no need for fossil fuel in conjunction with sun rays to produce electricity or heating. You simply need a solar energy collector or solar power panels in order to collect the suns solar energy.

Solar energy is less expensive than traditional electric heating. That’s another prime reward of solar energy. Just by utilizing solar energy you can save a lot of money on heating. In return you will realize smaller electric bills and it also means that you dont have to maintain heaters or furnaces.

If you live in a rural area where there are no power-lines solar energy can be your solution. There are rural areas where power companies have no means to access your home. Solar energy is a great alternative because it provides you with everything from heating water, a supply of electricity, and even cooking, and that pretty well covers all of the bases.

Another great use of solar energy is for desalination in regions where fresh, potable water is scarce. Solar energy evaporates brine and leaves the salt crystals in the bottom of the basin. The water in turn condenses into another basin where it is now potable.

While all of the above-mentioned is very useful, solar energy does have some disadvantages. These disadvantages also need to be talked over to paint a complete picture.

The main disadvantage of solar energy is that its dilute. Which means that you need to have a bunch of solar collectors installed around your house. Solar energy may be very cheap but the solar collectors are relatively expensive and require regular upkeep in order to work properly and efficiently. If you decide to go with solar energy you will need to calculat your return on invested capital in order to know if the investment makes sense.

One big disadvantage is that you need the suns rays to make use of solar energy. If you are situated in a part of the world where there is not much sun light then you could have a bit of a problem. In other parts of the world, the suns rays are almost always covered in clouds making solar energy collectors less efficient. You should first know if the sunshine in your area is abundant for the most part of the year. Of course if you live in desert areas like in Arizona or New Mexico the sun produces a lot of sunshine for the majority of the year and is ideal for solar energy collecting.

Finally the sun only shines during the day. Therefore if you need electricity or hot water during the nighttime, like many of us do, it can be a problem. You will need a backup system like the local electric company or you will need to store the electric for later use. There are battery systems available, that can store electric for later use.

Solar energy is very clean and an substitute to conventional heating and electrical systems. this is true it is also good to mention the disadvantages of solar energy. If you are thinking about applying solar energy you should read this first to make a informed decision.

The advantages of renewable energy definitely outweigh any disadvantages. If you’re like me, and sick and tired of paying electric bills, that just keep doing through the roof, visit us at www.energymoneysavings.com

Bret Parker asked:

Eliminate your dependency from the power company and generate your own solar electricity from the suns energy.

Making a small solar panel or large solar panels for a home power energy system will save you money, save the environment, reduce toxin carbon gases and power your house with free solar electricity.

By using the sun’s energy to harness electricity for your house, you are also helping to protect the environment with the cost of living skyrocketing and fuel prices near record highs any savings for the family budget is welcome.

The perfect solution for you is learning exactly how to generate this power and reduce your bill. Do you know that when you build your own home solar power systems, it can be a great way to reduce your huge monthly electrical bills by half as well as allowing you to help the environment because it is environmentally friendly?

You should give some serious thought to building your own home solar system by making solar panels creating your own green solar electricity from renewable energy as an alternative to fossil fuels.

Solar energy is renewable and converting it releases no toxic emissions into our environment. The energy from sun has already been researched and studied by scientist for many years. Solar panels sold by the retailers cost thousands of dollars when you can simply make your own solar panels for less than your last electricity bill.

You will be amazed at how simple and easy the whole home power system is to set up. You can find great detail to explain where and how to source the materials and most important where you can pick up deep cycle batteries to use in your solar system sometimes for free or very cheap from the internet or purchase one of the many how to make guides.

You will see tremendous benefits when you start to adopt your very own solar power systems to power your home appliances. You soon will see your energy bills reduced by at least 80 percent almost the moment you put your solar power systems to use, not to mention that this is a renewable and sustainable source of energy throughout its lifespan.

The greatest demand for power is between 4pm through to 7pm when dinner cooking and water heating is at its premium. It’s the time when solar panels are not producing any or very little power. This is when you ask yourself whether to go completely off the grid or stay connected.

Are you curious to know about solar power systems and how they can save you money?

During the day the solar panels produce the electricity that runs the house when the demand load is small and if your power system is larger than the electricity you are using, you then put power back into the grid earning you power credits that come off your power bill.

Hence the saving staying connected to the grid. The whole process of building a complete home solar system with solar panels is very easy to understand and you require absolutely no knowledge about power engineering to make solar panels for the home power systems but a qualified tradesperson is required by state laws to connect into the house power and meter switchboards.

It is also possible to “sell back” power into the grid. Imagine that, you receive money from electric companies! Many people are looking for ways to save money on their electric bills and one way is to build their own solar power systems.

DIY power solar power systems are becoming popular and the good thing about solar power is that it is one of the most readily available energy sources known to man today.

Your electric bill will become non-existence. Let’s face it some commercial solar or wind power system can easily cost you in excess of $15,000 and compare that to a do it yourself power system and you will realize that you can avoid expensive solar systems and setup costs, and enjoy savings hundreds of dollars in power bills each year.

By acting today, the power system and solar panels will pay for itself in 3 or 4 months. Solar power systems Can be built with easier obtainable materials that can be found at any local hardware store.

With today’s technology and materials costing less, there is an increasing demand for information on how to build solar power systems for home uses. You can build your own solar panel for less than $200 with a do-it-yourself installation guide.

Follow the instructions in one of these guides, and you can save money on your electrical bills!

REMEMBER to source out the correct package that gives you all this information as some do every little in the way of explaining the details, so be aware, Read the SITE carefully.

Create a video blog

A lot of people think of these large panels on the roof of homes, when they think of solar energy and solar power. Let’s talk about some other solar energy facts. Although it came to light, so to speak, in the 1960s, solar energy has advanced and can be used for everything from warming our households to fueling our cars. Solar energy is free. Our electrical energy bills get higher each and every year. We can take this solar power using Earth4Energys kit for a fraction of what it cost us for electricity. We hear that the environment is having troubles with global warming, green house gases, but solar power if we decide to use and invest in it, is positive for the environment.

A long time ago, we believed people who used solar energy to heat their homes pretty much as fruitcakes. But today, they have the last laugh. Each day we watch the price of oil grow and fall. Never knowing where it is going to be tomorrow. Then there is the trouble with global warming stairing us in the face. People who practice the alternative energy source like solar and wind energy are the people who are saving and not to worring about the rise and fall of oil for heating and cooling or running their homes.

A lot of new constructions are being developed with some consideration to solar energy as the energy crisis as well as the concerns about the environment are forefront in the minds of many individuals. There are many uses for solar energy, other than heating. There are other things that solar can be used for other than heating our households. We can use it to run our appliance’s in our homes and also run some electronic gizmo’s. We are all familiar with solar powered calculators. In most cases there is some type of rechargable storage device, but in some cases there is not even a battery needed. So let’s use this to power other things.

Don’t forget there is the wind that can be controlled also to make energy. With that and solar, you can really have an impact on your energy cost and start to save in a big way. Purposes for solar energy range from warming a house and running a car to actually cleaning H2O in third world nations that can end up saving lives. As you can see there are numerous purposes for solar and wind energy.

To keep solar and wind energy active and going forward, thought has to be given to the price of producing this power. We also have to remember to consider the eco system as well. There are two types of people, the one’s who wish to save money using solar power. Then there are the one’s concerned about the environment. But both types of people are in agreement that solar and wind energy can be an solution to both of their concerns.

Learn more about solar energy facts. It is easy to have solar energy for homes, a simple DIY kit, fully illistrated will have you saving money by the weekend. Click solar energy for homes for more information.

Gallen Ho asked:

What Do You Gain By Using Earth For Energy – Wind Power Generators and Solar Panel Systems?

At present, electrical and fuel prices have been increasing drastically. As a result, many families are experiencing financial pressures. Using Earth for Energy is an alternative energy method which most people has chosen in attempt to save more electrical costs. This includes building your very own Power Generators and Solar Panel System. With the generators being built, you are able to generate your own electricity in your households, and save a lot of money on electrical costs.

Wind power generators and solar panel systems are popularly known for their ability to convert natural energy into usable electricity. As such, the benefits are straight-forward and practical – save money. In addition, the benefits of these generators also include acquiring tax incentives and prevent giving off harmful greenhouses gases to the environment.

In regards to tax incentives, do check on your area for rebates offered by the governments. These rebates exist as encouragements for using environmental friendly system in your households. In Fact, many construction companies have already been practicing this method for its benefits in saving electrical costs. You are able to enjoy the wealth of generating electricity to power your appliances. In the night, excess electrical power generated during the day can be used. Basically, the amount of generated electricity in your household will be sufficient for usage.

Where Can You Station Your Wind Power Generators or Solar Panels Systems?

Wind Power Generators are best to be stationed in uncovered places where huge amount wind can be easily received. Solar Panel Systems requires the exposure to the sunlight, therefore, it is advised to be situated on rooftops of homes or commercial facilities. For home purposes, Solar Panel Systems can be alternatively stationed in gardens as long as it is near the main area.

Being Environmental Friendly

With the increasing amount of greenhouse gases being accumulated in the world today, it is important for us to protect the earth by reducing the amount of these harmful gases. One effective way to contribute to protect earth is by switching to environmental friendly system such as Wind Power Generators and Solar Panel Systems. The reason is simple, these generators utilize only natural wind and sun energy to operate; therefore, it does not produce harmful gases. Not only can you save money on electricity, you can also play a part to protect the planet.

Create a video blog

Many people today have considered solar energy as an alternative for electric energy, since solar energy is free and unlimited in quantity. Throughout this article you will learn how to build solar panels to capitalize on that solar energy for your own benefits.

1. Why You Should Build Yourself

Buying readymade solar panel can cost you $2000-$3000, compare that with building your own self that can only cost less than $500, beside it is a fun process you can learn to do. Let’s take at some basic principles to build your own solar panels successfully.

2. Solar Cells

Solar cells are the necessary equipment for solar panels. Solar cells or known as photovoltaic cells convert solar energy into electric energy that you can use to supply your house.

3. A Concise Guide To Build Your Own Solar Panels

The first thing you need to have is semiconductor on the cell’s surface. This is where light will be gathered. Usually the semiconductor is made from silicon. Aside from using silicon, there is another type of semiconductor that uses cuprous oxide. In this case you need to heat copper first before producing the copper oxide.

If you find it difficult you can buy the different parts of solar panel at local supplier and assemble it at once. This is a cheaper method than buying the whole readymade package.

The next step is to loosen the incoming electrons and send it to a pre-determined place. After building the semiconductor, you need to mix the semiconductor with other elements that have an effect of changing their polarity this way you can create an effect to loosen the electron. The last step is direct the electron to a pre-determined direction and convert it to electric energy.

Michael Harvey has written a guide that provides a step by step guide on how to build your own solar powered generator.

Maureen Smith asked:

I love solar energy, because it frees us from high electric bills and because it allows us to use the sun to power our electronics. If you want to learn about solar power the Waterproof 12V Solar Panel

from Scientifics is a smart simple way to introduce you and your family to the power of the sun. It is light weight and 3 1/2 X 3 X ¾ inches in size. It is also encapsulated in a strong clear plastic shell which makes it durable, sturdy, waterproof and corrosion proof for outdoor use. In other words it can take the heat and a beating.

Click Here To Learn How To Build Your Own Solar Panel & Generate Your Own Energy

The Waterproof 12V Solar Panel is designed with conservation in mind. It contains a blocking diode, “so that the stored energy [from the battery] will not reverse flow to the panel at night time”. This design does two things: it protects the panel from electrical damage and it also stores the day time energy for night time use.

To test the durability of the plastic shell I kept the panel outside for several weeks in all kinds of weather. The panel withstood all the elements – extremely hot days and bad rainstorms- very well. I noticed there was no corrosion or water damage to the panel at all. Then I tested the strength of the plastic shell in another way. The box that the solar panel arrived in reads that the solar panel models 681 to 683 are strong enough to withstand heavy weights and there is an illustration of a car rolling over a few solar panels to demonstrate this. My solar panel model is a 684. Despite the fact that my model does not fit in the category above I decided to take my Honda Civic to it and roll over it anyhow, twice, with the back wheel. It did not break, not one crack, not even a scratch. I’d like to see what a heavy loaded 18-Wheeler can do to the panel.

There is no doubt in my mind that this panel is durable, but does it provide the energy it claims it should? Does it really store the energy without back flow? Honestly, I couldn’t tell if it did. I don’t have much experience or knowledge about solar panels. I was hoping I would learn with this one. Instead I found that after a few weeks of testing the solar panel, the cell phone battery and the rechargeable battery I used to test it with were no longer functional. The cell phone (which was old) no longer turned on at all. The 12 volt rechargeable battery (which was new) no longer provided energy to the lamp. Was this a coincidence? Did I connect it wrong?

It is supposed to be simple product to use and yet I found myself perplexed, because at first it worked so well. I was able to charge up my husband’s cell phone battery so easily. In fact, the first time I tested it I remember standing next to my husband so happy because I kept thinking to myself “not one dime was paid to the electric company to charge this phone”. I couldn’t believe it; my husband cell phone was powered for free. Yes, it took a little longer to power by the sun, but we weren’t in any hurry. Then I began to imagine my whole house powered by the sun and my low or possibly non-existent electric bills and I couldn’t wait to use it over and over again.

I did test it over and over again over the next few weeks only to find that eventually the phone no longer worked and that the battery did not either. Because there was no indicator (voltmeter or multi-meter) to let me know how much power was being produced, if at all, I had no way of knowing if it was the items I was using, if the solar panel was broken, or if it was something that I was doing wrong. I contacted Scientifics and was told to contact the manufacture, but could not because there is no contact information available on the box or anywhere on the solar panel that I could see.

I also found the 6ft wire was too short for my mounting on the wall needs, though on the ground it was fine. The stand was easy to put on the panel, but somewhat flimsy. I wasn’t fond of the alligator clips either. Aside from the fact that they did not stay on very well (barely touch them and they would fall off) there was the problem of finding items to test it with. This was my fault. I should have been more careful noticing that this particular solar panel came with alligator clips rather than a different means of connecting to electrical products. This of course limited what I could use from my home to test the solar panel.

Despite the problems, having a small solar panel like this and having the chance to use it really inspired me to learn more about solar panels and perhaps go solar in the future. My first sample may have not have gone as I had hoped, but I did learn a lot from it and I dream of the day when I can afford to go completely solar in my life, to power my air conditioner, my lights, my appliances and everything else electrical.

Create a video blog…instantly.

sidana.abhi asked:

Residential solar panels gained a lot of popularity in the recent years. The main reason is that they are quite efficient alternative to regular energy sources and thus can cut home utility bills by thousands.

In essence solar panels are made of solar cells that collect sun emission and than transform it into energy that can be used for any household. Many people use them just for home heating as well as producing hot water, while other also use panels to produce electricity.

Why people consider installing panels in their homes? Here are the main benefits:

Earth friendly: Residential solar panels use solar energy to create electricity, heat water or heat your home. In that sense they are totally environmentally safe because they do not use any fuel and thus cause no pollution.

User friendly: A less known fact is that it is quite easy to manufacture solar panels for your household needs by yourself. All kind of panels are very easy to install too. Moreover the maintenance of both DIY and ready made residential solar panels is quite easy and it requires neither a lot of time nor money.

Cost effectiveness: Alternative energy sources require only an initial investment that pays quickly over time. By using solar panels as an alternative to other energy supply you are likely to cut your utilities bill more than half per month.

Perfect for remote areas: Residential solar panels are perfect for energy supply in remote areas that stand out of the main electricity grid. Thus they are perfect for any mountain or agricultural regions.

Noise free: Unlike windmill generators that produce a lot of noise, solar panels are completely noise free.
